Instant Messenger : An Interface For Today's Communication Channel










Few years ago, a lot of of us e-mail as an alternative of writing letters or even calling people over the phone. Till the arrival of IMs, E-mail has been the best and swiftly adopted form of communication ever known amongst the world. With the rise of Internet based IMs revolutionized the way of our communication standard. Earlier in the technology world, not many of the people were aware of its applications. In the company of IM application, people can keep a catalog of contacts to whom they interact with essentially.

Excluding the fact,  sometimes even e-mail isn't fast enough and in the middle of the way stuck within the path and get expired due to wrong address or server error. Natives around the world send out volumes amount of e-mail messages at every minute. People sometimes might not know about the reality that a person wants to be e-mail is online at that moment or not and there is need to be contact him/her through phone about their availability within that required location.   To eliminate this kind of dilemma, instant messaging (IM) applications were now become so admired world-wide.

With in the IM application , people chat via sending message or video conferencing through various channels like SKYPE , Gtalk , Yahoo Messenger etc. But for video conferencing there are some requirements . They were :
  • For desktop user  : A webcam and headphone with calling facility is must.
  • For laptop user : Generally , now laptops were inbuilt come with webcam and speakers and if they were unavailable , the requirement will be the same as desktop user needs to be communicate .
 
Typed messages were viewed by both sides within this communication  into a small window that shows up on the IM's screens. The majority IM software provide features according to their user requirements. Those wee:
  • Audio - Talk with each other via headphone with speaker.     
  • Chat - Makes a chat room according to preference with associates or companion .
  • Instant Messages - For sending texts .
  • Sharing - Any kind of file transfer through it example images , video , documents etc .
  • Video - For sending videos.
